Expectations
-
Since it was a summer camp, where I believe students are coming to have fun, I expected fewer rules regarding behavior management when compared to that of normal classrooms. However, I believe that, without behavioral engagement, no learning would occur. Hence, I expected to still engage my students behaviorally. Since multiple camps will occur within the same space, I also expected that behavioral engagement would be a little harder to achieve.

To engage my students behaviorally, I intended to teach my students some attention-getters on the first day of camp. I also manipulated the order of activities in my lesson plans, making sure that between different sections of slides-reading sections, students get to perform some hands-on activities or have some mental breaks, thus maximizing their behavioral engagement. I also planned to provide sectional quizzes in between lessons and prizes or candies to hand out for these quizzes.
