is an essential element of students' learning process. Without engagement, students will not have any access to what the teacher teaches and hence will not learn. Teachers work to ensure that the student engagement level is high in their classrooms. For teachers, student engagement can be divided into three categories: affective engagement, behavioral engagement, and cognitive engagement (Parsons et. al., 2014). This website will document how my beliefs about teaching have changed during the summer of 2023.

About the Experience
During the summer of 2023, I worked at a summer camp that offers one-week lessons on multiple tech-related subjects. Based on the given curriculum, I made teacher decisions such as adding necessary breaks and connecting the topic to students' interests in an effort to individualize the lesson plans.
About Me
I am an international Chinese student, currently studying in the United States. I am part of the Class of 2024 at Vanderbilt University, double majoring in Elementary Education and Child Development, and minoring in Data Science.
